Halogen Oven Recipes

Halogen ovens use a new innovative technology for cooking. These small countertop ovens heat up almost instantly, making it possible to cook your meals much more quickly than a conventional oven can, in fact 40% quicker.
The heat comes from an infrared halogen element that is aided by a fan that circulates the hot air throughout the oven. Since the oven heats up so quickly, pre-heating time is practically non-existent. The hot air that is blown through the oven by the fan results in food that is cooked more evenly without even having to turn it.
These unique halogen ovens can be used in many different ways, as well. The temperature can be controlled so that you can defrost frozen foods, bake, roast, or steam just about anything. One of the negatives about microwave ovens is that you can not brown food, but the halogen oven browns things like biscuits, pastries, and meats perfectly.
The oven comes with two racks so that you can cook your entire meal at the same time. Cooking with a halogen oven is also a healthy way to cook since all fats drain away from meat as it cooks. An added feature is the fact that it is self-cleaning.
When you begin to cook with your halogen oven, you'll have to pay attention to the tips and instructions that come with it. It's also a good idea to jot down notes each time you try something new. This will help you determine what is the best temperature and cooking time for that particular meal.
Some tips for cooking certain things with the halogen oven include:
·    When cooking a casserole, reduce the temperature 20% from what the recipe calls for and cook only one-half as long.
·    Pork, beef, or lamb should be cooked for the same amount of time as a conventional oven but 20 degrees C lower.
There are a number of halogen oven cookbooks available. Here are a couple of quick and easy halogen oven recipes.
