Braai Do's and Don'ts

A braai can be a breathtaking way of cooking food. You can cook almost anything on a braai. You would think that having a braai is quite straight send but there are a few dos and don'ts when it comes to a braai. As most people know when you cook food anywhere be it a braai or in the kitchen there are ways to cook your food to make it tasty if you effect distinct steps.

Meat Casseroles

Before you do anything when you buy meat always check how much fat it has. You don't want to be cutting the fat off for hours before you authentically cook the meat. You might make a lot of hungry people angry about the time they had bargained on eating the meat. It is vital to get most fat off the meat. It's healthier and tastier.

Meat by itself can be quite nice but if you use marinade before you cook it, it can be delicious. Rub the meat with as much marinade as you prefer and with flavors you feel are best. Remember to always wash your hands with anti- bacteria soap before touching the meat as meat is a breeding ground for bacteria. You should leave the marinated meat in the fridge for a few minutes for the marinade to absorb for extra flavor.

Make sure that you use wood and charcoal but not too much at first. You don't want to furnish too much heat at first. You should always monitor the fire and what the temperature is. You cannot start cooking over flames, you'll burn the meat.

Always make sure that you clean your braai before you start cooking. Grease can be very harmful to your food and safety. Make sure you have the right cleaning materials, some have risky chemicals and if consumed can lead to food poisoning.

Don'ts

Do not use lighter fluid to start the fire, your food might end up tasting like chemicals and this is also potentially hazardous. Lighter fluid can cause an unruly fire. Do not use gas as this is risky and there is no doubt that your food will taste like gas. It is great to use non toxic fire lighters. Fire lighters are still poisonous so do not put meat on the braai before the fire lighters are burnt up.

The location of the braai is very important. Do not place the braai under a tree with low hanging branches and make sure you aren't close to where kids are playing where they could run into it. Scout the area before you place it. Make sure you have adequate space colse to the braai area as smoke can also be harmful to children.

Braais are fun and it should furnish tasty food. It's enjoyable and most people enjoy the taste of a good braai. Make sure you are qualified and you effect a few steps if you would like a successful braai.
